Sourcing of Logs
The first step is obtaining high-quality logs. These logs are selected based on the type of wood and the appropriate size for veneer production.
Cutting of Logs
After the logs are selected, they are cut into sizes suitable for the next process. The cutting is done with specialized equipment to ensure uniform pieces.
Debarking of Logs
The bark on the logs must be peeled or removed. This process is essential to ensure that the resulting veneer is free from bark contamination and maintains high quality.
Rotary Process
The peeled logs are placed into a rotary machine, which rotates the logs while slicing thin layers of wood from the surface. These thin layers are the veneer.
Drying Process
Freshly cut veneer typically has high moisture content. Therefore, the veneer must be dried using specialized drying machines to achieve optimal moisture levels.
Grading and Packaging Process
Once dried, the veneer is classified based on its quality. The classified veneer is then packaged and prepared for distribution or further processing.
